The Transform Yourself

Philosophy

I believe that everyone has the

capacity & resiliency to

transform themselves

…but sometimes they need someone else to help them discover the path to wellness.

My goal is to help my clients understand their thoughts, feelings and behaviors so that they can change and grow in the healthiest way possible. Using my experience and education as well as the Annie Grace’s This Naked Mind and Affective Liminal Psychology’s philosophies, teachings, and tactics. I support my client’s progress toward facing and conquering their challenges with alcohol.

Through working with Transform Yourself Coaching, my clients will reconnect with their inner selves to uncover the limiting thoughts and beliefs that are holding them back and keeping them in the alcohol trap, so that they can actively move their life forward.

 Alcohol Freedom Certified Coach

I have been helping people with their life struggles for 15 years.

Education and Experiences: I earned my Bachelor Degree in Human Relations from Trinity University, and my Master of Counseling and Human Development from The George Washington University. I worked in schools as a Licensed Professional School Counselor for 12 years. During that time, I also became a Certified Hypnotherapist in Rapid Transformation Therapy (RTT) and completed a post-Master Certificate in Counseling. In 2022, I became a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate (Psychotherapist).

I was very excited when in 2024, I obtained my certification to coach people toward freedom from alcohol through This Naked Mind Academy. I practice various tactics and strategies that I use to help my clients understand the idea that their thoughts lead to their feelings, which then leads to their behaviors that become their reality. Together, my clients and I explore how to improve their life and ultimately feel better.

DISCLAIMER: My clients and I work together on finally gaining control and freedom from alcohol as COACH and client, and I do NOT function in the role of a therapist.

My Story

Hi! I’m likely a lot like you. I’m a blessed “professional” woman with a family and a job that I love and do well. However, I held a huge secret for decades that was slowly ruining it all and destroying the authentic ME. I want to briefly tell you about my past because I believe it matters. I grew up with parents who were alcoholics and alcoholism was a “norm” on both sides of my family. This created a lot of chaos in my life at times, which made my childhood really rough. But the good news is that it made me determined to get educated and work hard to increase my chances at a better life.

I had my first alcoholic drink at age 14 and as they say “that was the beginning of the end.” I always loved drinking. I “thought” it made me feel more relaxed, more courageous, more comfortable in social situations (I was always shy), more fun, more energetic, and even smarter (what?!)! In my 20s and 30s, I had a good time “partying” at happy hours and dinner parties.  I thought to myself “when I get married and start having children, I’ll slow down and get my drinking under control.” However, little did I know that it would actually get much worse! The challenges of a stressful job, raising kids, managing a marriage and household, etc. would lead me to seek escape by using alcohol as the ultimate “unhealthy coping strategy.” In my 40s, I most often chose a “party of one” and stayed at home DAILY with my bottle (or two) of wine. It was easier to just drink at home alone because then nobody would judge me or know that my drinking was becoming a “real issue.”

So, yes, I know what it’s like to struggle with alcohol and not know how to stop. I also know how it feels to be so motivated to reach success in your life both professionally and personally that nothing can stop you; however, feeling so confused (and angry and sad) that you can succeed in all areas of life, except for being in control of your drinking. And most importantly, I know how it feels to know in your mind, heart, and soul that you NEED to stop drinking because it’s just not working for you, but you don’t have a clue how to stop. I can help you! I did it myself 3 years ago after finally reaching a place within myself where I knew that something had to change. This realization was reached after some painful experiences and doing some really stupid stuff, but it effectively pushed me to make a much-needed huge change. The fear and paralysis that can result from being a prisoner of alcohol can be very real and very difficult to manage without the right tools and support.

Authentic living and true joy and happiness stems from understanding your own incredible power and the control you have over your own life. It is my mission to spread this knowledge to others. Coaching is the key to help you transform your struggles into self-love, empowerment, and true freedom from alcohol. This is what makes me passionate for alcohol freedom coaching, and it’s what has inspired me to help you!
